CONUNDRUM

Two people. One promise. And the choice that puts everything on the line.

ABOUT THE FILM

Ifeanyi and Sira are the couple everyone in their fellowship points to — three years together, deeply in love, and committed to building a life anchored in faith. They made a promise to each other, one they’ve kept through every season of their relationship.

But as their wedding day approaches, that promise is tested in ways neither of them saw coming — and the fallout reaches further than either of them imagined.

CONUNDRUM asks how much love can survive when the choices we make collide with who we hoped to be.

CONTENT NOTE: This film explores themes of purity culture, shame, and heartbreak within a faith community, handled with care and sensitivity.

TRAILER
DIRECTOR’S NOTE

One of the greatest temptations two Christian couples can face often comes during engagement—when two people who deeply love God and genuinely love each other are looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together.

In my conversations with friends and members of our fellowship, we often circle back to certain questions about redemption. For example, what happens when people who are genuinely trying to do the right thing still fall—not because they stopped loving God or each other, but simply because they are human?

Are they shielded from the consequences of their actions, or will they still have to face them? And if they do suffer the consequences, what happens after?

We wanted to make a film that didn’t point fingers, but also didn’t shy away from the truth. We wanted to tell the story of two people who love each other, love God, and yet still find themselves in a place that was never part of the plan.

Sira and Ifeanyi’s story is not just about the consequences of our actions. It is also about what comes after—grace. The long, sometimes difficult and unglamorous work of rebuilding trust after everything has fallen apart.

We shot Conundrum across Calgary, filming in homes, offices, and different spaces through the seasons of fall, winter, and even spring.

At the heart of the film are real conversations happening within our community: conversations about young immigrants building new lives, holding on to their faith while navigating culture, family expectations, relationships, and love—often without a clear playbook for any of it.

If you’ve ever made a decision you regretted, or if you’re currently in a place where rebuilding burnt bridges and broken relationships feels impossible, this film is for you.

Not to shame you, but to remind you that your story hasn’t come to an end.

There is still hope. There is still grace.

We look forward to you meeting Ifeanyi and Sira on the 27th of September, 2026.
